Chromium-Nickel Stainless Steels

1.  CHILLING  Immediately after a centrifugal has been poured, a thin layer of metal solidifies on the outside wall.  The balance is still molten.

2.  CHILLING  As Chilling proceeds, oxide and impurities are forced inward by the metal.  At the same time the metal is densely packed toward the outside by great centrifugal force

4.  FINAL STEP  The boring operation removes the impurities and reveals a perfect bore.  The turning on the Outside Diameter removes the OD impurities.

SURFACE CONDITIONS:  Texcellent castings can be supplied as cast, rough machined or finish machined.  Stock allowances for an "as cast" part are listed on the following chart.  Rough machined tubulars are generally supplied  1/8 inch over the finished dimensions.  Finished machined parts require tolerances and surface finish information with your inquiry.

FINISH DIMENSIONS:  The safest method of assuring yourself proper stock is to take your finish dimensions with your inquiry and Texcellent calculate the proper allowance.
